Missionary Aaron E. Davis, 59, passed from this earth to his Heavenly Home on Tuesday February 21st, 2006 in Birmingham, AL.

Brother Davis was an Independent Baptist missionary in Mexico since 1992. He is remembered for his strong sermons on living by faith and serving the Lord, for his work with children in Mexico, Vacation Bible Schools in the United States and many missionary construction projects. He will be missed by many whose lives he touched.

Prior to going on the mission field full-time, he was a long time Calhoun County resident and building contractor.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara, his mother Sarah L. Davis, the children Tina, Donnie and his wife Summer, Russell and his wife Angie and Larry; also seven grandchildren, Kyle, Aaron, Connor, Jacob, Sarah, Haugen and Blake; and his brothers J.B., Jerry, Marlin Jr., Kenneth and Mike. He is now reunited in Heaven with his father, Marlin A. Davis Sr. and his brothers Larry and Ricky.

In accordance with his wishes, the body has been donated to UAB Birmingham for medical research. Following research, the remains will be buried at the UAB Meditation Garden in Cook Springs. A memorial service was held Thursday March 2nd, 2006 at Southside Baptist Church located at 215 Cheatwood Rd. in Oxford, AL. Missionary Tommy Ashcraft of Monterrey, Mexico led the service assisted by Pastor Matthew Schumacher of Harlingen, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, a special fund has been set up to help with final expenses and the continuance of the Davis’s ministry in Mexico. Donations designated for this special fund may be sent to Central Baptist Church, 122 W. Filmore, Harlingen, Texas 78550.
